The fashion industry, a multi-billion dollar global company dedicated to the business of making and selling clothes.
The best definition of fashion is simply the style or style of clothing and accessories worn by groups of people at any given time. There may be a difference between expensive designer fashion displayed on the runways of Paris or New York and mass-produced sportswear and street styles sold in malls and markets around the world. However, the fashion industry includes the design, manufacturing, distribution, marketing, retail, advertising and promotion of all types of apparel (men’s, women’s and children’s) from extremely rare and expensive clothing (literally, “high stitching”). ۔ And from designer fashion to casual everyday wear – from couture ball gowns to casual sweet pants. The broader term “fashion industries” is sometimes used to describe a myriad of industries and services that employ millions of people internationally.

The fashion industry is a product of modern times. Before the middle of the 19th century, virtually all clothing was made by hand for individuals, either as a domestic product or on the orders of dressmakers and tailors. By the beginning of the 20th century – with the advent of new technologies such as sewing machines, the rise of global capitalism and the development of factory systems of production, and the proliferation of department stores such as retail outlets – clothing came rapidly. Although the fashion industry was first developed in Europe and the United States, today it is an international and highly universal industry, in which clothes are often designed in one country, manufactured in another, and sold in a third.

For example, an American fashion company could become a source of fabric in China and ship clothes made in Vietnam, made in Italy, and to a warehouse in the United States for distribution in international retail stores. The fashion industry has long been one of the largest employers in the United States, and continues to be so in the 21st century. However, employment fell sharply as production shifted rapidly abroad, especially to China. Since the statistics of the fashion industry are generally reported for national economies and are expressed in terms of many different sectors of the industry, obtaining aggregate data for the global production of textiles and garments It’s difficult. By any measure, however, industry plays an incredibly important role in global economic output.

The fashion industry consists of four levels: raw material production, mainly fiber and textile but also leather and fur production; Production of fashion accessories by designers, manufacturers, contractors, and others; Retail; And various forms of advertising and publicity.
These levels consist of many separate but interdependent sectors, all of which are dedicated to meeting consumer demand for apparel under conditions that enable industry participants to work for profit.
